Reference SOMMERACH

REQUIREMENTS

From the delivery of the grapes to pressing, wine production, storage, bottling and packaging, the Sommerach winery needs compressed air in all these areas to ensure that the processes run correctly. For this reason, the cooperative attached great importance to flexibility, reliable compressed air supply and corresponding redundancies of the compressors when redesigning the plant. In addition, the previously separate networks were to be combined and the compressed air must of course be 100% oil-free.

PLANT DESCRIPTION

In order to achieve an optimum combination of 100% oil-free compressed air and the greatest possible flexibility, the decision was made to use two RENNER SLM-S 30.0 scroll compressors, each with four 7.5 kW SCROLL units. A base load change is made possible by the common control of the two compressors. The cooling is ensured by two supply and exhaust air systems with power-optimised support fans, as well as an air cooling system. Furthermore, the location of the compressors was a special challenge in this installation. They were installed in an attic with historical building fabric.

SAVINGS

Through the new installation, a pressure reduction of 1 bar was achieved. In addition, the entire system complies with the requirements of the IFS food standard and supplies 100% oil-free compressed air. Thanks to the control system used, the compressed air station operates without any idling losses. The filter section and condensate treatment have also been eliminated. The heat generated by the compressor can now also be used to heat the installation room.
