PROJECT/REQUIREMENTS

For the production of dry products, a new compressed air system was required. The compressed air demand is 22-24 m³/min at 6.5 bar. The system is located in a dusty environment and provides limited space for ventilation. The separated heat is used to heat the storage area. Additionally, a refrigeration dryer for indoor use (DTP +3°C) and an adsorption dryer (DTP -40°C) are utilized.

SOLUTION

The system was equipped with three oil-free screw compressors RSWF 70 D (now RSWF 68 D) and six cooling modules WKH 50 (dry coolers outside). A 100% heat utilization was achieved through the cooling water. Additionally, an adsorption dryer was installed outdoors, along with three refrigeration dryers indoors.

IMPROVEMENT

Compared to the competitive system at Plant 3, an energy saving of 23.4% was achieved. The waste heat is utilized 100% to heat the storage area during operation of the system.
