Reference MÜHLBAUER

PROJECT/REQUIREMENTS

A volume flow of approx. 14 m³/min is required for the planned compressed air system, with a pressure of 6 bar at the consumer. The quality requirements are 1:4:2, and operational safety must be 100% guaranteed. An existing compressed air tank is integrated into the system, while the supply and exhaust air are controlled on site.
The system is divided into four compressed air circuits, whereby both the flow rate and energy consumption are measured. Real power measurement of the compressors is implemented, as is the display of fault messages from the dryers. In addition, the room temperature is monitored and the servomotors of the exhaust air duct are controlled accordingly. Each line is equipped with an electric ball valve that can be operated manually via a toggle switch or automatically.

SOLUTION

A direct-drive RSF-PRO 2-30.0 D screw compressor with frequency control, controlled by the RENNERtronic Touch, is used. The integrated REflex control enables an adjustable pressure range of 6 to 10 bar. In addition, a filter section in accordance with DIN ISO 8573-1 ensures compliance with the required air quality standards.

IMPROVEMENT

By optimising the system, around 135,000 kWh of electricity could be saved annually, which currently corresponds to around €30,000 per year. In addition, maintenance costs have been reduced by around €7,000 and a further €5,000 has been saved by eliminating downtime. Another significant advantage is heat recovery, which leads to considerable savings. The compressed air costs of each department are now also monitored. In addition, a BAFA subsidy was successfully obtained.
